2025 Luke & Acts Study

Happy New Year!
As we step into 2025, we want to invite you on a transformative journey through Scripture that will deepen our discipleship and empower us to become more faithful followers of Jesus.
Centenary is joining other congregations in the Western NC Conference of the United Methodist Church for an in-depth study of Luke and Acts—two books of the Bible written by the same author that together comprise over 30% of the New Testament. These books tell a sweeping narrative that begins with the birth of Jesus, follows his life, ministry, death, and resurrection, and continues with the acts of his followers as they carry the Gospel to the world. Along the way, we’ll revisit familiar Bible stories and favorite scripture passages within the broader context of God’s redemptive story. If you'd like to know more about these books, you can find summary videos here. In the coming months, watch for additional opportunities to engage with Luke and Acts, including mini-retreats for deeper study and practices to incorporate these books into your prayer life. We also welcome your ideas about how to more deeply engage our congregation with these books. We are  excited about this journey and look forward to exploring God’s Word with you in this meaningful way.
