Centenary United Methodist Women
Faith…Hope…Love in Action
October has arrived! And the artist’s “palette of color with creation” will soon be with us to fully enjoy…the gorgeous colors of trees, the many exciting events in downtown Winston…football games, neighborhood/ church “gatherings”… so many opportunities to come together in community for celebration and to be with each other in fellowship!
Excitement is in the air as our Centenary United Methodist Women time of coming together is almost here!!! Our 3rd Table Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, October 19th at 9:30a.m. in the church auditorium. What an event this is…we will have a silent and a verbal auction this year…already, so many special items, paintings have been donated, including original paintings and vacation homes! And, this year we will have a bake sale as well as a plant sale…we need your support!!!!!! You can show your support of this fundraiser by coming to the Table Extravaganza: For reservations: Send your check for $30.00 to Dianne Iseman, 5164 Brandiles Lane, WS, NC, 27104…make check to “Centenary UMW” and put Table Extravaganza on the memo line. You can also support our fundraising event by donating an auction item. Donations can be dropped off at church on Wednesday mornings from( 722-0538) or Becky Perkinson( 813-2457). Remember, all money raised from our Table Extravaganza will go towards mission outreach projects in our community in support of women, children, and youth!
Also, this year, Saturday, October 19th is a UMW day of service in partnership with the National Mission Institutions in our conference
UBUNTU ….Day of Service
(Ubuntu means humanity towards others, or I am, because we are, or simply human kindness)
***The Bethlehem Center of Winston-Salem, which our church helped to start, will be a place of service on this day for people in the Triad to come and help/support/serve.
As Centenary UMW come together on Saturday, October 19th for our fundraising event for missions, we will be in the spirit of UBUNTU!
It takes a lot of work to make mission outreach and support happen…together our UMW women touch the lives of many in incredibly diverse ways through your hard work in raising funds for missions and your hearts and hands in service. I am reminded of a quote from a graduation speaker last May who stated:
“INSPIRATION, followed by MOTIVATION, followed by PERSPIRATION can improve any life! Thank you Centenary UMW for living out these words in connecting and loving ways to individuals in our community who need you!
With Gratitude, Jane Poe
October Greetings from your United Methodist Women!
